Tripawds Helpline Honors Tri-Pug Maggie

If you’ve spent any time in the Tripawds Forums, you have likely received a warm welcome, helpful feedback, and guidance from long-time member, community supporter, and forum moderator krun15, aka our friend Karen.

Ever since she joined Tripawds back in October, 2009 and first started sharing the story of her amazing Tri-Pug Maggie, Karen has been making quick friends with new members from all over the world as one of our first forum moderators and and earliest Tripawds Bloggers. She launched and coordinates the Tripawds Tribute Leash project, regularly attends Northern California Tripawds gatherings, and continues to support Tripawds in many ways.

We should also mention how Karen rescued Elly, and shares her story in the Life with a Tri-PugMutt Blog. Recently it was her generous contribution that helped the Tripawds Foundation exceed its 2017 fundraising goal. Stay tuned for details about what that means for amputee pets and their people everywhere!

Maggie has always been a huge inspiration for any member facing amputation due to mast cell tumors, and proof that Tripawds come in all shapes and sizes. Karen remains one of our most active long term members and supporters, providing comfort and helpful feedback to new members on a daily basis. That is why we have named the Tripawds Helpline in Maggie’s honor.

Tri-Pug Maggie’s Helpline

Tri-Pug Power Acknowledgement for Karen’s help and support is long overdue.

It is only fitting that we honor Maggie by hosting the Tripawds Helpline in her name since that silly little spud is the reason Karen discovered the Tripawds community in the first place, and krun15 has been on the front line helping others in the forums for nearly ten years now.

Thanks to her generous support the toll-free Tripawds Helpline has now been funded for the foreseeable future. If you have visited the Helpline page recently, you may have noticed a little something new. It’s the least we can do.

Thank you Spud.

Tripawds Helpline The Tripawds Helpline is hosted in honor of Tri-Pug Maggie thanks to the generous support of long time community supporter and Forums moderator krun15.

  2. OH MY GOSH!!!! THIS IS WONDERFUL!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ A BEAUTIFUL WAY TO HONOR A BEAUTIFUL HUMAN SOUL AND A BEAUTIFUL PRECIOUS STUBBORN PUG MAGGIE!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

Karen is always front and center willing to share her knowledge, her humor, her wisdom and her “calm vlice of reason” with every member…new or old! ๐Ÿ™‚

From my first panicked post about my Happy Hannah where I was sure I had made a horrible decision, to my heartbreaking time when I had to post Happy Hannah jumped into her Chocolate Wings…..Karen was there making a difference- When she shared that Srubborn Pug Mzggie took six weeks before she became herself, I felt relief. When I didn’t feel like I “belonged” here anymore after Happy Hannah transitioned, she posted aome “reasons” why I needed to stay. And the fact that she said my typos would be missed, well, of course, I needed to stay!!

And most recently, she’s shared soooo much knowledge on how to help Frankie recover from cruciate surgery. Equally important, just like she did for me from day one, she helped me remain strong and confident that I did NOT make a “horrible” decision znd that we woukd get through this! ๐Ÿ™‚

I always love the way Karen is able to weave in stories about Stubborn Pug Maggie (and sweet Tani and Mr Obie and adoravle Elly) as she imparts her Sage advice ro everyone. Even though I wasne on here during Stubborn Pug Maggies’s journey, I do, indeed, have the privilege of getting to know how special she is through Karen.

Often my posts simply say “DITTO KAREN”, or as Karen often says……..

I always call her our “historian” too. She’s always avle to recount the last stories of so many to help inspire others and give them hope.

For those of us who have actually been in the presence of the sacred Tribute Leash Karen created, will FOREVER be grateful to have a place where our beloved Spirit Angels will be remembered.

You have honored Karen and Stubborn Pug Maggie in such a thoughtful way! And the new Tripawds Helpline “banner” is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ She TRULY is one of the greatest gifts this community has. The continuous commitment Karen has made for all these years is astounding!!

Thank you Jim and Rene for paying tribute to Karen and Maggie in a way that speaks volumes about how much they mean to us.

With a grateful heart for all Karen has done for us, we salute you and surround you with our love

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

  3. So well deserved Karen! Karen was one of the first people to welcome us 2 1/2 years ago as we started our journey. I remember thinking way back then how do these people who’s dogs and kitties have earned their wings stay here and continue to help others? I have come to the conclusion that they truly are Saints on earth. Karen and the others in that “core” group that have suffered their own losses but remain here day in and out truly have my most utmost respect and love. It was Karen that taught me to truly know what “be more dog” meant and how to live it every day of my life. So to Karen and her stubborn Pug Maggie I raise my glass and salute you both!

  4. Such a wonderful way to celebrate such an important soul in this special family. Karen, you are most often the front lines into this site and make everybody feel at home. One of the biggest things that is so steadfast throughout the site is when things get chaotic and people are in panic mode, you quietly come in and say something so solid and profound that it just calms things. I know that I appreciate you being here, others as well. You make an amazing difference in so many lives all the time. Thank you for all that you do.

  5. WOW… this is amazing news!!! What an awesome gift and way to honor Maggie for decades to come! This is so wonderful to hear. Karen has, indeed, been a lifeline to many starting, in the middle or ending this journey. From her words of wisdom, her “pug tails” and just being a ray of hope! Thank you for all you do and have done for this organization!

    XOXO
