This fund honors Louie by offering a financial lifeline to dog owners struggling to afford amputation surgery when facing a canine cancer diagnosis.
Louie’s successful fight against cancer is a testament to the deep bond between humans and their canine family member. His story began on May 6th, 2022, when our groomer found a sizable mass on his hind leg. This provoked a whirlwind of emotions and events in our family.
After a diagnosis of Chondrosarcoma, a form of bone cancer, Louie required a complex procedure known as a hemipelvectomy, involving the amputation of his hind leg and a portion of his pelvis. With his unwavering patience, boundless love, and irresistible charm, Louie was always such an irreplaceable part of the family. The thought of losing him to the disease was unimaginable.
The emotional toll of his cancer diagnosis was compounded by the financial strain of the life-saving treatment.
Louie’s experience opened our eyes to the challenges many pet owners face when confronted with the reality of canine limb amputation. This inspired our mission to provide support for others in similar situations.
The 3 Legacy Fund is committed to helping alleviate the financial burden of amputation surgery, ensuring that financially distressed families and their beloved canine companion receive the care they both deserve.
