Tripawds Foundation Grant Gives a New Lease on Life to Tripawd Dalvin
Here is his story as told by his dad, Stephen
Dalvin had an infection on his front left declaw two months ago. It started off small and I tried to fight it with antibiotics.
After further testing, the mass is now soft tissue cancer. The mass grew to golf ball size and moving up his leg so the only way to stop the spread is to amputate his leg.
After talking with two different doctors, they said this surgery is the only way to save him.
Because Dalvin is 5 years old, I feel this surgery will give Dalvin the best chance at a longer life and he’ll be able to adapt well.
Dalvin was a rescue and had a hard life before we found each other. I had my toes amputated and have difficulty walking. I feel a special bond with Dalvin and understand what he’s going through.
I know he’s in pain and I want to do everything I can to help him.
