In memory of Spree, who showed her humans what resilience looks like, after losing a leg in an accident
Recently we received a generous donation from Spree’s mom, Wanda. Her employer also matched the donation, giving it twice as much impact so that we can help Tripawds around the world!
Wanda recently shared Spree’s inspawrational journey with us, and here’s why today we are all celebrating this beautiful Tripawd angel’s legacy.
She was 5 when due to an accident I made the decision to take her leg versus try to save it.
We could not afford if she had issues or reinjured it later. It felt like an awful decision but I knew it couldn’t cause problems if it wasn’t there.
We suffered through the phantom pains and were blessed with almost an additional 12 years with her.
She reminded me every day of those years after what resilience animals can have. Also to live with no regrets or pity.
We bonded even more through that terrible event.
We honored her life by putting her down before she was suffering. It’s been a year and I intend to keep paying forward the joy she gave me.
