Tripawd Gracie Finds Healing and Hope
Here is Gracie’s story, as told by her mom in her application.
I was on the way home one day when I saw a little white pup laying in the ditch of my driveway. I quickly got out and realized she had been hit by a car.
After an initial vet visit nothing was broken, but she had a lung contusion, radial nerve damage, and some abrasions.
For three months I tried having her swim, supplements, massages, range of motion, PEMF, and nothing worked. She quickly acclimated to my family and we all fell in love.
In August she began to self mutilate and I was worried I couldn’t afford an amputation.
I had the amputation because she is literally the best girl ever and I couldn’t stand the thought of giving up on her.
She is doing wonderfully.
A vet mentioned Tripawds and I thought I would apply. I have become a part of the community and have relied on stories to get us through this difficult post-op time.

I rescued Gracie from a ditch a little over three months ago. She had been hit by a car and suffered front left limb radial nerve damage.
After trying everything for rehabilitation, there was no improvement. In August she began to self mutilate and hide under the bed. She had amputation surgery on August 15th and I was a nervous wreck.
Surgery went great, pain control was great, and everything healed perfectly. She is happier on three than she was on four!
Just wanted to let everyone know that the recovery process is temporary and totally worth it. I hope everyone else’s Tripawds have a quick and easy recovery as well. God bless!
