Atari passed away on December 30, 2023. We adopted her in September 2012, two weeks after our honeymoon; it’s so hard to imagine our family without her. From her only child years of 10K training and outdoor dining, she transitioned beautifully to her role as nanny dog to her two human siblings. She brought our family (and everyone else she met) so many years of joy and love.
Atari had a front leg amputation due to an osteosarcoma in August 2023. For the last four months, Atari showed unending resilience as she recovered from her amputation with her usual persistence and vigor. Though she is no longer with us, she certainly won her battle with cancer.
We will miss her snoring, her “vicious” face licks, her insistence on walks on her schedule, her distinctive three-legged hopping gait, her greetings at the door when we got home, and her ability to find a sunbathing spot anywhere.
Our hearts are broken, but only because she made them so full.
