Sweet Tripawd Cat Billy Bob is Ready for Brighter Days Ahead
Here is Billy Bob’s story, as told by mom in her application for help.
I am a college student, so it is difficult for me to pay for Billy Bob’s vet care. Billy Bob snuck outside without my knowledge and was hit by a car in May.
Luckily, he wears an Apple air tag, and I was able to track him find him, but he was very injured. He had to spend the night at an emergency animal hospital where he received a lot of care and medications.
After the accident he had weekly appointments, and the vet bills started adding up.
Now that he is almost fully healed from his other injuries, he is ready to have his front right leg amputated.
The only thing that is causing an issue for the surgery is the cost of the amputation.
In the car accident the vet believes that he was drugged under the car where he got a severe road rash that took months to heal.
Along with that his front leg was severely injured with irreversible nerve damage, causing him to not be able to use the leg at all.
The leg now drags and causes him issues with walking, he is constantly tripping over it and getting it stuck behind or under him.
With the constant dragging we are worried he might start to get open sores and wounds on it.
I was also informed by the vet that cats can overgroom or even bite their leg because they have no feeling and that can cause infections and other issues.
Billy Bob is only a year old and has so much life left to live. I want him to not have to suffer anymore and get back to his playful self.
