ASAP Grant Helps Chicken Get a Chance at a Pain-Free Life
Here is Chicken’s application story as told by mom Heather.
Chicken was found as a stray running down a busy road in our area with her littermate. I took both her and her sister in and I was able to located her owner and they took her sibling back.
But they declined taking her back because of her amputation needs.
He did not want to deal with her issues and He also stated he did not get her because of her need for amputation.
We decided to go ahead and take her on as a rescue and we had her treated for a skin infection, demodectic mange, and vaccinated/dewormed.
The vet said she has a born defect but the defective leg is getting rubbed raw in areas and causes issues when walking. She needs it amputated at the shoulder.
We are hoping and praying she gets approved for the grant so she can have her surgery done and live a normal life.
Chicken is a sweet and loving pup that wants to live a life free of pain. She has nothing but love and appreciation to give.
