Three-Legged Ashtray the Senior Cat is Looking Forward to Many More Years by Her Person’s Side
Here is her application story as told by Ashtray‘s mom Cassandra.
Ashtray was born an amputee, she didn’t have a foot!
For 14 years she had zero problems and suddenly a lump started to grow on the inside of her partially missing leg. It grew larger at an exponential rate until it ruptured completely open and became necrotic.
Because of the wound being on a weight bearing spot, they need to take the rest of the leg before the infection spreads.
There aren’t enough words to explain how much this cat and I have been through. She quite literally never leaves my side.
Getting this grant from ASAP would mean that she can continue to be my shadow.
As a healthy cat otherwise, the thought of having to put her down over not being able to remove this would be devastating.
My entire heart would be eternally grateful for this grant.
I’ve never had such a soul bond with another pet as I do her.
She follows me to every room, we share pillows when we sleep at night. I get bathed when she baths.
She is quite literally my everything, she’s there when I wake and with me when I go to sleep.
I don’t think I’ll ever have a connection with another pet as I do her.
With her already being part amputee, I think the transition to the full leg removal will be a breeze for her and I’m so ready to help her be back to her joyful bunny hopping self.
I hope that ASAP can help us with this new part of our lives.
