ASAP Grant Helps Tripawd Bruce with Front Limb Amputation Surgery Expenses
My dog Bruce was hit by a truck on Tuesday, Feb 4th. His front left leg was damaged really badly. That Tuesday, he had emergency surgery, and the vet tried to save the leg and stitched him up. He had lost a lot of blood, and just that was touch and go for a minute.
We returned every day for follow-up care, and on Thursday, Feb 6th, we had to have the leg amputated. We have a long road of recovery ahead of us. I’d like to do everything I can to help my baby.
I don’t have the funds on hand to cover the cost of the surgeries, let alone to get any additional aids to help him in his recovery journey. This grant would cover a significant amount of the cost of the surgeries which would take a huge burden off of us. And, allow for me to look into harnesses and additional types of aid for him much sooner.
I love my dog, and he’s such a sweet boy. He deserves anything I can do to help him. We have our work cut out for us learning to stand and eventually learning to walk again. He’s been so brave, and he fought so hard to stay with me and my son. He’s such a big part of our family.
